Artist's Statement

"Ultimately, the photographic artist is a voyeuristic observer. The artistic photo, for me, is less creation, and more quest. Beauty is everywhere! I am searching for the best way to portray beauty and interest already present in the scene, with only a camera as my paintbrush, and my eyes as compositional navigators. The image creates itself, for the photographer willing to see it. My quest is to become that photographer, to continually hone my ability to really see the beauty that is present in the moment, and to capture that beauty in a way that others also may enjoy."

Background

Roger has pursued his photography, for personal enjoyment only, off and on for many years, and only recently has decided to share his work with others in a more formal way. Professionally, he is a management consultant, but at the core he is an observer first, recording his observations through the camera and in his poetry.
